Update on our senior gal Margie . . . shelter volunteer Ken adopted Margie this week. He lost his beloved kitty Spring suddenly and very unexpectedly last week. Spring was a very special gal that many of us remember as having a quirky personality, just like Margie has. Ken obviously has a soft spot for those "difficult" gals, as Margie won him over even before Spring's departure left a hole in his heart. We hope Margie can help mend the loss of Spring. One moves on to the Rainbow Bridge, another one steps in to fill that void. Thank you, Ken!

Our Shoe Drive ends on June 1 - only ONE MORE WEEK to gather up your soles and donate them to us. Your gently worn shoes turn into cash for our animals!
to benefit the cats and dogs at our shelter. By simply cleaning out your closet and making the tough decision to part with some of your old shoes, you can help the animals in our care as they wait for their forever homes.

Jesse was an outside cat who never tried to get inside even during the coldest weather. After suffering an injury he was brought inside to heal. Once inside, he never tried to go outside. No more living on the streets for this big guy! Jesse loves people, even kids, and other cats. He's very talkative and is always asking to be petted. He is playful but not destructive. Jesse is fully vetted and ready to go home. Jesse is currently in a foster home. If you would like to know more about Jesse, contact his foster mom at

THIS WEEK: Are you interested in getting your animal microchipped? Don't miss this event! Microchipping is a great way to help your pet return home if they become lost!

This big guy is Boy. Boy is a 7-year-old Pit mix and was surrendered to Animal Protectors because his previous owner had some health issues and had to move. Boy walks very well on a leash. Boy does not seem to like most other dogs (or cats), so would be best as an only pet. This handsome guy loves to go for walks and play fetch in our play yards - his favorite toy is his pink bowling pin. He also loves to spend time with people and loves to sit for lots of pets. Does he seem like the perfect Boy for you?
