HENRY IV, Part I By William Shakespeare Directed by Bryn Boice Featuring Commonwealth Shakespeare Company’s Apprentice Program for pre-professional actors Friday, August 4, 2017 at 7:00 pm Menotomy Rocks Park, 150 Jason St, Arlington, MA 02476 The bard is back in Arlington! Join the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company's Apprentice Program for their rousing rendition of Shakespeare's classic yarn..."Henry IV, part 1"! Bring a lawn chair or a picnic, and enjoy the bard in your own backyard! The story: The First Part of King Henry IV uncovers mounting tensions and tests of loyalty to King Henry’s crown–seen by some as stolen from his predecessor, King Richard II. As factions turn against the king, the country’s turmoil causes the young, slacker Prince Henry (and friends) to step up in defense of his father’s kingdom. Shakespeare’s famed history play asks us, “What will we do in times of political crisis? Play dead or fight back?” Join us on Friday, August 4 for this fast, family-friendly adaptation of one of Shakespeare's most beloved plays...set against the gorgeous backdrop of Menotomy Rocks Park!
