Whalen Machine

"Whalen Shift Machine" is the name that I gave to the custom stainless steel shift knobs that I began making in 2002.
Being a self-employed toolmaker and owner of a one-man machining job shop, the first thing that I made for myself after buying a used 1999 BMW M Roadster was a custom shift knob.
After showing it on a Z3 forum, I then spent the next three days answering e-mails from interested people.
Suddenly, I had a product! Since then, designing and producing "automotive art" has been the best part of my workday.

The attachment fitting for BMW and MINI knobs is my own design, and is unique.
No set screws will mar your shift lever.
Easily installed with no tools, it can be removed and reinstalled using one hand, even while driving.
Yet, it will NOT come off in your hand during spirited driving, as stock BMW and MINI knobs are well-known to do.
