Hyattsville Mennonite Church

Founded in 1952 in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, , Hyattsville Mennonite Church (HMC) grew and eventually settled into our current building in Hyattsville, Maryland, in 1959; a major rebuild was completed in early 2013, with improved and increased access to all parts of the church. The congregation is a member of Allegheny Mennonite Conference, a district conference of Mennonite Church USA. HMC is also a member of the Supportive Communities Network, a program of the Brethren Mennonite Council for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Interests (BMC).

We strive to be a diverse church, accepting all identities, with congregants from all over the and other countries like Indonesia, France, the Congo, Canada, and elsewhere. We span a wide range of ages, and have a large group of younger children. We come with all sorts of abilities and gifts. We are at work both in our local communities and across the and the world. We are all at different places in our lives and faith journeys.

You are welcome to join us on Sundays for worship at 11:00 ; Sunday School is also available at 9:30 and is held at the University Park Church of the Brethren, 4412 Tuckerman St., Hyattsville, Maryland, a 10 minute walk from HMC. We also normally hold a monthly potluck on the second Sunday of the month (although this is subject to change).
