Ashton Gazette shared Amboy Fire Protection District's post.
Our Pink Heals ambulance "Anna" received her very first marks today. Anna Richter's father, brother, and son made a trip to the department to mark "Anna" in honor of their beloved daughter, sister, and mother. Thank you all for the wonderful feedback on our "Anna" introductory post. Captain Anna Richter was very loved at the Amboy Fire Protection District and is greatly missed by our membership. We are honored to help continue her legacy in a field that she so loved herself. Ashton Fire Protection District voted to also include the name of Tammy Bryant on the decal. Tammy is a 20-year member of the Amboy Fire Protection District who was diagnosed with cancer in 2014 and fortunately overcame it. The ambulance was a gracious donation from Foster Coach Sales, Inc and Crest Foods of Ashton (Anna Richter's former place of employment) funded the pink striping. "Anna" requires some additional work including rear decals, rust repairs, and some more pink paint. If you would like to make a donation please send envelopes to: Amboy Fire Protection District ATTN: "Anna" PO Box 165 Amboy, IL 61310 "Anna" can be viewed for the first time at our 145th anniversary event THIS Saturday, Aug. 19 4pm-11pm. 💞

"Anna" now joins our fleet of Pink Heals apparatus at the Amboy Fire Protection District! She is named in honor of Captain Anna Richter of the Ashton Fire Protection District, who passed away in 2013 after her courageous fight with cancer. Anna will join our pink fire engine "Jessica" at events with the intention of spreading hope, love, and awareness. She will also acquire signatures from anyone wanting to leave their mark, commemorating their journey or honoring the journey of a loved one. She will also be equipped with rehab equipment for use on incident scenes, if necessary. Anna can be viewed for the first time this Saturday at our 145th anniversary event, 4pm-11pm! 💞

Ashton Gazette shared Lee County Sheriff's Department, Dixon IL's post.
The NO WAKE ordinance has been lifted for the Rock River in Lee County. Water has went below action stage. Still watch out for debris that is in the water and along the shore. Have a great weekend.

Lee County Sheriff John Simonton has announced that the “no wake” ordinance for the Rock River in Lee County, will be lifted today. The current is still flowing faster than normal and river levels above the normal pool. Sheriff Simonton cautions boaters to be cognizant of the speed of the current and debris that may be flowing from up river. It is suggested that boaters use all precautionary measures with regard to speed of the vessel and wearing of life jackets. Sheriff Simonton would like to thank the public for their understanding and consideration.
