STAGG's acquisition services relate to the design and implementation of corporate acquisition programs for both developed and undeveloped natural resource properties. STAGG's divestiture services relate to the development and implementation of divestiture strategies and divestiture programs, including assistance in preparing offering documents and setting up data rooms.

STAGG's staff and associates are experienced in the appraisal of individual asset categories and in valuing business enterprises. Appraisals have been conducted for such diverse groups as coal, metal, and industrial mineral producers, oil and gas producers, banks and lending organizations, law firms, the construction industry, a variety of government agencies, and individuals.

STAGG's environmental group provides comprehensive services to mining and industrial companies, state and federal agencies, landholdings companies, and individuals. Staff and associates include geologists, biologists, chemists, hydrogeologists, and engineers.

A comprehensive range of geologic services is provided, from pre-project field reconnaissance through the development and implementation of major exploration programs. STAGG has extensive experience in evaluating coal deposits at all levels of investigation, ranging from preliminary assessments of reserve potential to detailed reserve studies conforming with public reporting requirements.

STAGG provides litigation and arbitration support services and expert witness testimony to clients, drawing from extensive experience in assisting in case development and in the preparation of courtroom exhibits. Areas of particular expertise include the evaluation and estimation of resources, evaluation and analysis of operations, preparation of economic analyses, market-oriented research, and appraisals. Venues include federal district courts, state circuit courts, state superior courts, arbitration proceedings, and administrative hearings.

Mineral economics and market research services include the preparation of detailed mine costing studies, the economic analysis of proposed and operating mines, and the financial analysis and appraisal of mining enterprises. STAGG utilizes MineCost, a proprietary mine costing spreadsheet program developed by the firm for both surface and underground coal mines. The firm's experience in the economic and financial analysis of mines and mining operations has been gained during due diligence investigations, operational analyses conducted for mine operators, and in the appraisal of mines and mining enterprises.

The mining services provided include the preparation of pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, mine planning and design studies, equipment selection and utilization, process plant evaluation and design, and the preparation of detailed and comprehensive capital budgets. These services have been provided for both surface and underground mines throughout the Appalachian Region, the Eastern Interior Region (Illinois Basin), the Powder River Region, and the Rocky Mountain Region.
