The ATA has been the exclusive bargaining agent for teachers in the Arlington School District since 1967. The union negotiates, administers and enforces collective bargaining agreements; protects the rights of staff through the grievance and arbitration process; and engages in political activity on behalf of our members and students. We also provide the benefits Dental, Vision, and Personal Health Account through a Welfare Trust Fund.
Our union is part of the 600,000 member New York State United Teachers (NYSUT). We are affiliated nationally with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), and are proud to be part of the AFL-CIO.
