He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Cornell Medical School, and was Chief Resident in Ophthalmology at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. He has been in practice for 25 years, specializing in cataract surgery, eyelid surgery, implantable contact lenses as an alternative to LASIK, glaucoma, and comprehensive ophthalmology. He has been team ophthalmologist for the Buffalo Sabres for the past 15 years.
