In may of 2000, with 22 years of experience as a certified mechanic, Gerard Lopez celebrated the grand opening of his new auto repair business: Gerard’s Quality Auto & Truck Care, located in Smithtown. Well-known for specialty services such as high performance and custom work, the shop also boasts standard, routine auto repairs and complete diagnostics, as well as repairs on foreign and domestic vehicles. From brakes to tires to balancing to front and rear end alignment and most repairs and custom work in between, Gerard’s Quality Auto & Truck Care handles it all.

In his continuous pursuit of automotive and technological knowledge, Gerry received NYS certificates of achievement in various repair courses coordinated by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Gerry went to school for engineering and developed an interest in auto repair through a local shop. Over time, he found his interest growing and enjoyed the challenge of repairing, and modifying both cars and trucks.

With 22 years experience behind him and his commitment to quality, honesty, and integrity; the shop was an instant success, showing growth year over year since opening.
