The Upper Cape Special Response Team, consisting of Officers from Falmouth, Mashpee, and the Barnstable County Sherriff’s Department, was activated and responded to the scene.
Kidnapping / Man Barricaded with Shotgun- At 9:48 pm on June 12, 2017 the Falmouth Police Dept. received a report that a man had forced a woman at gunpoint to drive him from the Town of Dennis to Falmouth. Gregory Blake (27, Falmouth) was reportedly dropped off by the female in a residential neighborhood in East Falmouth. Falmouth Police were able to determine that he was in a residence at 94 Old Meetinghouse Road. We had reason to believe that he was armed and dangerous, and possibly suicidal. Officers surrounded the residence and took precautions to ensure the safety of nearby neighbors. The Upper Cape Special Response Team, consisting of Officers from Falmouth, Mashpee, and the Barnstable County Sherriff’s Department, was activated and responded to the scene. Officers secured the area and made multiple attempts to contact Blake. At approximately 4:08 am on June 13, Gregory Blake surrendered peacefully to Officers at the scene. He was placed under arrest, and is being charged with multiple offenses, including Kidnapping, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Threats to Commit Murder, and Possession of a Firearm without a License to Carry. Other charges may be pending. Once Mr. Blake was safely in custody, Officers searched the residence and found a shotgun and ammunition. Neither Mr. Blake nor any Officers were injured in this incident.
