SRE is a private, independent electric distribution cooperative owned by the nearly 15,000 members receiving electric service across nine counties in Central Georgia. Chartered in 1938, Southern Rivers is deeply rooted in the communities it serves and provides more than electricity through its youth, education and community outreach efforts. SRE employees serve on local Chambers of Commerce and Development Authority boards in an effort to promote beneficial economic development throughout its territory.
