In 2001, renowned pianist and composer David Benoit was appointed Music Director and Conductor of the Asia America Symphony Association (AASA). That same year, he founded the Asia America Youth Orchestra, now known as the Asia America Youth Symphony (AAYS). Its goal is to provide young musicians with an innovative training program to develop their talents and prepare them for multifaceted careers in music.
