The business originally was named Carr Grocery, located on the corner of Market and Beck Street. It was bought by Russell Petersen in 1945 where he renamed it Foodland. He operated it until he passed it on to his son, Jeffery Petersen in 1986, Russell still helping till late in his life. The store is owned & operated by Jeff and his wife Julie.
Jamboree Foods is a complete supermarket featuring its fresh meat and produce. Jamboree also has a full deli with Broaster® Chicken, Captain Sub Sandwiches; hot sandwiches include: rib, meatloaf, hamburger, fried chicken, grilled chicken, and pork tenderloin; and has a variety of Piccadilly Pizzas. Jamboree also carries the Iowa Lottery, greeting cards, school supplies, A&E Dairy Products, a large frozen foods section, and Movie Rentals.
