Main Museum houses a fine collection of Native American Projectile Points as well as Catawba Pottery, A fine and comprehensive Gun and Firearm collection, The Samuel McAliley Parlour, War Between the States Collection, The Chester Cannon, and more! Our Archives house the Henry O. Nichols Collection among many other thing. Housed in the 1914 Chester County Jail, the CCHS Museum is all things Chester County - South Carolina!
Our Transportation Museum is housed in the 1888 Seaboard Freight Depot, restored primarily by the Historical Society, through grants by the SCDOT. Inside you will see the evolution of transportation here in Chester County and the impact of the automobile on American culture. Packed full of vehicles (and a 1928 School Bus and Grandma, one of our first fire engines) and images of Chester County.
