Built on more than a century of grace-filled service, Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey (LSMNJ) continues its mission as a not-for-profit organization to serve residents statewide who hurt, who are in need, or who have limited choices – regardless of religious background or affiliation.
From our beginning as an orphanage in Jersey City, we have broadened our focus to serve the state’s ever-changing population. Today, besides being one of New Jersey’s largest providers of affordable housing, LSMNJ provides a wide range of essential programs, including immigration and refugee services, a homeless day shelter, special needs housing, adoption, food pantry support, and varying levels of senior care and retirement living.
