In the early 1990's, concerned citizens and the Sumter Ministerial Association determined that individual churches were not equipped to deal with requests for crisis assistance in our community. A central organization was needed to evaluate hardships and determine if the need was legitimate, if the person's story was a good use of church resources.
first opened on January 12, 1994.
an extension of the ministry of area churches whose mission is to provide crisis relief to those in need. In recent years, the scope of our ministry has grown to include the homeless shelter
funded by area churches and from donations by civic groups, businesses, and individuals. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.
governed by a thirteen member board of directors and staffed primarily by volunteers who share God's love and concern for all of God's people.
