Established in 1982, the Knights of Columbus Museum is a nonprofit institution serving the educational interests of the general public through exhibitions of art and history. Located in New Haven, Conn., where the Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882, the museum also serves as an archive for documents and articles pertaining to the fraternal organization’s foundation, history and activities.
The museum features world-class exhibitions, particularly those representing the heritage of Catholicism. It also maintains a permanent gallery of the K of C’s annals, as well as one dedicated to its founder and sainthood candidate, Father Michael J. McGivney (1852-1890). Its collections of Christopher Columbus and papal memorabilia are also on permanent exhibition.
Renowned for its annual Christmas exhibitions, the Knights of Columbus Museum is located a short distance from the organization’s international headquarters. The spacious, contemporary and group and family-friendly facility is fully accessible. It has a gift shop and is open year-round and with free admission and onsite parking.
