La Peña is a community-supported nonprofit cultural center founded in South Berkeley in 1975 by Californian and Latin American allies as a direct response to the military coup in Chile. We are an inclusive social justice organization that uses art and culture as our methodology, with a focus on movements and cultures pertaining to the the Latinx diaspora, at all of its intersections.
