Community Homes purchased the first home in 1996. We now own seven houses in east King County. Each house serves five residents. House funding is secured through the King County DCHS Housing Program, the Washington State CTED Housing Trust Fund, and the ARCH, a coalition of eastside cities that promotes affordable housing in east King County. We also piloted a Shared Living home in Bellevue for two women under our new expanded model.
All houses are large split-level homes. Residents and Care Providers occupy different floors to ensure privacy and promote independence. The homes are well-kept and complement their eastside neighborhoods. Community Homes takes special care to maintain its houses and grounds.
Three houses are in Bellevue; two are in Redmond, and one is in southeast Bothell. Each house has a common area for residents, including a living room, dining area, kitchenette, and laundry facilities. Homes are on or within easy walking distance of public transportation routes.
