15th Street Veterinary Group

15th Street Veterinary Group
We are a walk-in clinic, so scheduling appointments is only necessary for surgical procedures, bathing, and boarding. This allows us the flexibility to tailor each visit to the patient's needs without worrying about going over an allotted amount of time. It does, however, mean that there could be a wait time depending on what is happening that day. We take emergencies during regular business hours, but refer to the Animal Emergency Center overnight and on weekends.
Our doors first opened at our current location in 1965 as Hohmann Veterinary Hospital, under the ownership of Dr. Donald Hohmann. Dr. Mark Shackelford joined the group in 1987. We officially became 15th Street Veterinary Group in 1990 when Dr. Shackelford became co-owners of the clinic. Dr. Hohmann remained on and continued to practice until his death in 1995. Dr. Erin Reed joined us in 1999, and Dr. Jennifer Miller joined in 2009. In 2017, we welcomed Dr. Cristen Thomas.

Many of you know Kurt. He's worked for us for several years now and we've all grown very fond of him. He got accepted into OSU's veterinary school this fall and we are so excited! Tomorrow will be his last day with us at 15th but it will be the beginning of his career in veterinary medicine. We're sad to see him go but we know that he will make us proud. Please wish him luck on this next adventure!

Many of you are aware of the wildfires out west and their destruction on livestock, crops, equipment and tens of thousands of acres. This has been devastating for many people and animals. We will be accepting cash donations over the next 2 weeks to send to Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Foundation. If you’d rather write a check, make it payable to Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Foundation with “Fire Relief” in the memo line. Hay is one of a number of items needed by producer-victims of recent wildfires. If you are interested in donating hay or if you’d rather donate money from home, please go to the following website for more information.

This little lady came in for a job application. Unfortunately we're not hiring any more nurses at the moment, though I'm sure she would make a great one! 😉
