Watoto is a family, made up of people from all over the world, working together to ensure that the forgotten have a place to belong.
In a time of civil war, we planted a local church in Kampala, Uganda to speak hope and life to the nation. Since then, we’ve rescued thousands of vulnerable children and women in Uganda, placing orphans in families and empowering women to care for themselves and their children. We have also rescued babies and former child soldiers, and sent children’s choirs across six continents. As we work alongside the most vulnerable in our society, our aim is to rescue and raise each one in a loving family, so they can become leaders who impact their communities and rebuild their nation.
In over 35 years, the challenges facing Africa have changed, but our vision remains the same. Watoto is a local church committed to celebrating Christ and caring for community.
