One sultry morning at a retreat in south Texas Hilda experienced an encounter with God that catapulted her from cosmopolitan Houston to Chriesman, Texas – population seventy. Hilda knew exactly what she was supposed to do, but had no idea how to do it. The daunting task was to carve a sanctuary out of dense forest.
Finally, she had found purpose in her life. Hitching up a U-Haul trailer crammed with her worldly belongings, and with her sixteen-year-old daughter in tow, she set out for her new life in Christ.
