Founded in 1883, the Encinitas Union School District is located in beautiful north coastal San Diego County and serves the communities of Encinitas, Leucadia, Olivenhain and the Rancho La Costa area of south Carlsbad. The district's enrollment of approximately 5,400 students is housed in nine kindergarten - sixth grade schools and includes a special education pre-school and transitional kindergarten program. The district has a long standing tradition of high student achievement and is acknowledged for its innovative learning opportunities. All nine schools have been recognized as California Distinguished Schools by the California Department of Education and four have been named National Blue Ribbon Schools by the U. S. Department of Education. EUSD is proud of our students' academic achievement, appreciative of our families' involvement in our schools and grateful for the generous support from the communities that we serve.
