In 1998, Daniel J. Sullivan, MD, JD, FACEP, formed The Sullivan Group (TSG) with the mission of improving patient safety, reducing medical errors, and lowering the incidence of malpractice claims. By leveraging research against technology, he developed RSQ® Solutions, a portfolio of scalable clinical training programs that integrate key principles of Risk Management, PatientSafety, and Quality Improvement into the practice of medicine.
Through its 20+ years of independent research into adverse outcomes, which includes an analysis of roughly 350,000 high-risk patients, The Sullivan Group has identified key clinical indicators that correlate to diagnosis-related malpractice claims and adverse patient safety events. Using this information as a foundation, in 2002,TSG launched a comprehensive program specifically targeted at improving patient safety in Emergency Medicine with several of the largest healthcare systems across the country.
