In 1990, Jim Fink was a CRNA working at a hospital in Central Pennsylvania when he discovered an opportunity for other CRNAs to put their considerable knowledge and skills to greater use by realizing the full potential of their profession. The realization of this opportunity became what Allegheny Anesthetists is today.
Jim held (and still holds) his fellow CRNAs in the highest regard and developed a business plan for these professionals to optimize their careers while practicing what they loved. As the needs of local hospitals changed, more CRNAs joined Jim’s network and Allegheny Anesthetists began to grow.
Allegheny Anesthetists believes that CRNAs should have the autonomy and independence to practice the profession they love to it’s fullest extent. Allegheny Anesthetists believes that this is so important that they encourage CRNAs to “put us to work for you” - Allegheny Anesthetists handles the business side of the process (scheduling, billing, bookkeeping etc.) while CRNAs practice their skills and focus on what is most important, the patient.
Allegheny Anesthetists is in business to educate, empower, and enable CRNAs to run their own businesses while providing opportunities for them to use the full range of their professional capabilities. Anesthetists have the ability to enrich their careers and their lives by working for themselves; giving them more control over when, where, and how they work, as well as greater financial independence.
