Paddle Against Cancer, created by stage 4 kidney cancer survivor Gene Evans, is a stand-up paddleboard and poolside event benefitting the Moffitt Cancer Center and promoting the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle.
The fifth-annual paddle, on May 23, 2014, will feature 3- or 7-mile paddles around Treasure Island, followed by a celebration from noon to 4 pm at The Club at Treasure Island poolside with live music, a silent auction and paddleboard demos.

Those interested in paddling can register up until 9 on May 23. Participants are asked to make a minimum $35 donation by the morning of the paddle. Paddleboard rentals will be available through Suncoast Surf Shop (727-367-2483).
