Joining the Masonic Fraternity requires that a man of his own free will inquire about and petition a lodge for degrees of Freemasonry. The steps required to petition for masonry are as follows:
ASK: If you know or meet a mason, ask him about the fraternity. You can also go to the Officers page and send an email to one of our members.
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION: You can request a petition from a mason or from a lodge you want to join.
SUBMIT YOUR PETITION: After you complete your petition and submit it to the lodge, it will be read during the following stated meeting, which happens once a month. West University meets on the second Tuesday of every month for ours.
INVESTIGATION: Once your petition is read an investigation committee will be assigned. This means that you will be interviewed by three masons of that lodge. There is a standard set of questions as well as others that may be asked by those masons.
BALLOTING: After the investigation, the report and original petition are read again to be voted upon by all masons whom are members of that lodage. After balloting you will be contacted regarding your schedule to receive your first degree in Freemasonry.
