Ice Caves

Trained guides take you on a tour of the largest Lava Ice Cave known, and describe and explain the geologic, volcanic and historic background of this recreational area.

You descend gradually on a smooth path and then stairs to a depth of 100 feet under the lava into a world of volcanic wonder and ice. The Cave is about 1700 feet long, 50 feet wide and 45 feet in height. Elevation is at about 4500 feet. It is well-lit with LED lighting so one may see all the points of interest and much more!
On the grounds we offer a gift shop, free rock/artifact museum, picnic area, our famous 30-foot-high, 10-ton statue of Chief Washakie; noted Chief of the Shoshone Tribe, and our very large green dinosaur; Dino, which has become a local icon. We also have lots of various rocks for sale outside, as well as other statues to see and take pictures with.
