The kids had a lot of fun with Rutherford County's WET and Wild Wednesday's "All the Way to the Ocean" event! There are more events coming up, check it out: WET and wild Wednesdays during the month of June will be conducted on the Cason Lane Greenway at its southernmost end (West Fork of the Stones River, off Highway 99 on Barfield Road, behind World Outreach Church.) Registration begins at 9:15 am, program starts at 9:30 and runs through 11:00, each Wednesday in June. Rutherford County’s Project WET office invites families and individuals to come explore their local river. Listen to a story and then spend time wading in the West Fork of the Stones River. Rain boots or old shoes are needed to wade in the water (bare feet are not permitted). Equipment is provided to explore the watery world that is part of our Stones River Watershed! This is the trail end, so there are neither restroom facilities nor pavilions available. It is a shallow river in the wild! Parking is limited; carpooling with family friends will add to the fun. Preregistration is requested, and there is no cost. Further questions? Please call Bonnie Ervin at 615-907-3538.
