Since its inception three decades ago, Action has always emphasized the importance of customer service. The organization, which was created in 1977 by David and Stanley Portman, was founded on the core principles of customer loyalty. The Portmans' father, Dr. Harry Portman, was a local physician known for his selfless acts of kindness. Dr. Portman understood that an important part of patient care was customer service. Action EMS holds true to this philosophy today.
