Founded in 1947 by Frank Fitts Jr., Fitts Industries of Tuscaloosa, Alabama is steeped in tradition of fine wood turning companies. In its early years Fitts manufactured precision furniture components for well known companies in Hickory, North Carolina - the center of fine furniture manufacturing in the United States. Fitts eventualy turned its talents and capacity manufacturing stair components. In 1988, Fitts opened its Tacoma, Washington operation manufacturing and distributing stair products to the Western United States and Pacific Rim. Today, Fitts operates as one of the last US manufacturers of stair components.
