Our Hope was founded over 40 years ago by a group of pioneering community leaders to provide a better way for women suffering from alcoholism, addiction and the mental health and emotional conditions (depression, PTSD) so often accompanying these diseases to achieve lifelong recovery. It continues today as one of the few independent non-profit organizations dedicated solely to guide women to recovery.
Our Hope's environment provides a dignified place to do the difficult work recovery requires. Change does not have to happen in a cold, clinical space. In fact, research shows that a woman's journey to recovery from alcoholism and/or addiction is more effective when it takes place in a healing and warm space. Our Hope's work happens in a surprisingly non-institutional setting: a dignified home hidden away in a historic West Michigan neighborhood. This is an inviting space where women participate in a variety of programs, including Residential Treatment, individual and group therapy, Acupuncture Detoxification Therapy and more. Our Masters Level Clinical Therapists develop individual recovery plans customized for each woman based on a thorough bio-psycho-social assessment of her strengths and needs.
