The City of Sedona welcomes open discussion on our social media sites, including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube pages. Please note that information posted on any of our social media platforms becomes a public record. If you do not wish to have the information you have made available via this site used, published, copied and/or reprinted, please do not post on this page.

The opinions and or views expressed by participants on the City’s social media platform represent the thoughts of individuals and online communities, and not those necessarily of the City of Sedona as a whole or any of its directors, officers, employees, or City Council or commission members.

While the City makes reasonable efforts to monitor and/or moderate content posted on its social media platforms, it does not moderate all comments and cannot always respond in a timely manner to online requests for information. No communication to the City via any social media platform shall be deemed to constitute legal or official notice for any purpose. The City of Sedona disclaims any responsibility or liability for any communication made by the public and for any misstatement, misunderstanding or loss, directly or indirectly, sustained by the public, whether that misstatement, misunderstanding, or loss is a result of such communication or otherwise.

The City of Sedona disclaims liability for ads, videos, promoted content or comments accessible from any external web page. The responsibility of external content or comments rests with the respective organizations or individual content providers. Any inclusion of external content or comments on external social media web sites does not imply endorsement by the City of Sedona. The City reserves the right and may choose to reprint comments/materials placed on the social media web sites to other media, such as by providing comments/materials to City staff or the Sedona City Council in private or public settings. Reposting, retweeting, or otherwise displaying by the City of Sedona content not made by the City itself does not imply ownership of said content by the City of Sedona. The City of Sedona’s use of externally created and copyrighted content belongs solely to the original content creator and is used by the City of Sedona only in compliance with Section 107 of the Copyright Act (17 § 107).

The City of Sedona reserves the right to remove comments/materials from City social media platforms when those comments/materials, in the City’s sole discretion, are:

Potentially libelous
Obscene or sexually explicit comments
Hateful or mean-spirited
Personal attacks, insults, profane, name-calling, or threatening language
Plagiarized material or material that potentially violates intellectual property rights
Private, personal information published without consent
Commercial promotions or spam
Off topic or that link to material that is off topic
Embedded images from external sources
Violate any law or promote the violation of any law
Encourage or constitute prohibited discriminatory or harassing conduct
Made by a person masquerading as someone else

Additionally, the City reserves the right to terminate a person’s ability to post comments/materials or otherwise participate in the City’s social media platforms when the person has repeatedly posted any of the above listed inappropriate comments/materials.
