Terry Nursery School

In 1970, Reverend Vardell Swett began his long tenure as the minister of the Terryville Congregational Church. Reverend Swett noted the need for a quality preschool to serve our community. In 1971, Terry Nursery School opened its doors to the children of Plymouth and the surrounding towns.

In 2007, Terry Nursery School became Terry Nursery School, Inc., a separate legal entity.

Terry Nursery School, Inc. is committed to helping with the guidance and development of your child by fostering kindergarten readiness and providing a structured curriculum within a fun environment. Our program strives to nurture your child's personal and educational growth. You, as a parent or guardian, are truly your child's first and most important teacher. It is our purpose to offer additional experiences that will broaden your child's social, mental, physical and emotional development.

Your child will have the opportunity to experiment with various creative materials aimed at developing an appreciation of art, nature, music, science and the community around us. Learning how to be a friend, working and playing together and being able to talk and listen to others are some of the skills that we help your child practice .

We strive to develop a relationship between home and school. Some ways that we hope to build this connection is through ongoing communication and family involvement. We utilize newsletters, conversations, progress reports and volunteering to keep parents informed. We ask that you continue to nurture your child at home so that he/she remains a happy and eager learner.
