The Sheriff's Office Consists of Sheriff Darrell Miller, Chief Deputy Tory Engel, Deputy Scott Powers, Deputy/Jail Administrator Lester Plank, Secretary Jane Cameron, Jailers - Mike Wolf, Lisa Busack, Steven Plank & Mary Lawrie.

The Sheriff and Deputies cover approximately 850 square miles of Brule County which includes towns of Chamberlain, Pukwana, Ola, Bijou Hills and Kimball.
The Duties of the Sheriff and Deputies are: Law Enforcement Duties, Criminal and Traffic Investigations, Crime Prevention, Courthouse Security, Prisoner Transport, Courtroom Security, Civil Process, Assist Treasurer with Tax Collections, Carry out Court Orders, Conduct Mortgage Foreclosure Sales, Collect Judgments on Execution, Conduct Execution Sales, Maintain Warrant File, Issue Pistol Permits, Collect Sheriff's Fees, and Collect
The Sheriff’s Department also has a Boat and an ATV for assisting in search and rescue operations by land or water.
