DAN[& Jean] Dan's Bar was established in 1960 by Dan and Jean Hartung. They moved their family to New Trier, where Dan's quickly became a favorite local watering hole, a place for FRIENDS and SPORTS TEAMS to gather after a long day or a great game! In 1975, they added food into the mix, serving a staple of burgers and steaks. It was then that Dan's Bar became Dan's Bar & Grill!
DAN[ette] When it came time for Dan & Jean to step back a bit, their daughter, Danette, took over the reigns as the manager of Dan's. Without missing a beat, she's known for providing the same level of excellent service as her parents, and remains committed to making Dan's a great place for FRIENDS and FAMILY to gather!
DAN[ielle] In 2013, the third generation was welcomed into the fold. After completing CULINARY SCHOOL at Kendall College, Danette's daughter, Danielle Durow, joined Dan's as the Head Chef and Kitchen Manager. She immediately gained a loyal following with her famous Saturday Night Specials as well as her unique takes on classic food. Prior to attending Kendall, Danielle attended Boston College where she majored in marketing, and was a FOUR YEAR LETTER WINNER on the women's hockey team.
