Subject: Christmas Island I couldn't have done it without you. Thanks Abel! Ewing Philbin Kenwood, CA.

We love seeing experiences like this one below from our friend Nick Bowles at Ocean Active. Great to see his gear was up to the challenge for him too! Another first for us from Alphonse, a wahoo on fly and the Thomas and Thomas Exocett 912-4. This was one of the most exciting hits I've seen, first the wahoo hit the teaser and went about 8ft into the air. I got the fly into the water and slowly popped the fly and nothing, put the fly out again and slowly popped and as I thought I had missed the chance, this bar of silver flew into the air with my fly in its mouth, Sean shouting "Hit it Hit it!!" I managed to get a strip strike in and by the time the fish hit the water I was tight, a couple of seconds lag time and then the fish took off like a rocket, melting line off the reel! Amazing fish and fight, really enjoyed this one and already on the cards for another half days blue water on our next Alphonse trip! We saw huge yellowfin, baitfish, bonito, birds, the place was alive and most probably the cleanest indigo blue water I have ever seen.
