Jims Appliances was opened in 1980 by Jim Miller. He started the business after the local International Harvester dealer which he had worked for closed. They used to be the appliance dealer and Jim wanted to continue the appliance portion of the business. The company started with only a few appliances in stock and Jim would sell appliances during the day and service them at night after the store closed. As business grew his mother helped him answer the telephone and worked in the store. In January 2005 the store was purchased by Darin Pote. Over the last 30 years Jims Appliances of Inman Inc has continued to grow and has been the areas largest independent dealer for many years. We now have over 800 appliances in stock and have added several product categories including televisions, wood pellet smoker/grills, and vacuums.

In December of 2007, Darin and his wife Kim purchased another appliance store in Manhattan Kansas (Manhattan Appliance & Sleep Source Inc.). With the two stores together and membership of a national buying group called Brand Source, we have the buying power to get the very best pricing available from the manufactures so we can compete with the “box stores” but can offer so much more.
