TCSE is a cooperative agreement among 20 public school districts in Jackson, Perry, & Union Counties. TCSE is responsible for ensuring that all exceptional children, ages 3-21, receive a free and appropriate public education. TCSE provides assistance to students in the following areas:
•Child Find •Educational Assessment •Program Planning •Service Development •Parent Consultation •Coordination With Other Agencies •Compliance With Federal and State Guidelines
A full continuum of Special Ed options are available to children with special needs, ranging from consultation with Regular Ed classroom teachers, to partial day resource assistance in the local school, to special full-time classes in one of our 3 schools. Additional Related Services, such as Speech and Language therapy, Physical and Occupational therapy, Counseling, and Vision/Hearing services may also be provided as educationally appropriate.
How can you tell if a child should be referred?
