It was in 1995 that founder and Vice President of Accessible Environments, Inc., Earl Weis, along with his supporter and partner, Patricia Weis, conceived the concept of a service to provide persons with different abilities the modifications to make their lives easier. Actually, the idea was born with a bid walk through with a community development project manager in a home where a child was wheelchair bound. The child had to reach through the small bathroom door to the sink to wash her hands because the bathroom was inaccessible to her wheelchair.
Upon leaving the home, their commitment was made and Accessible Environments, Inc. was born. It remains our firm belief that all persons should have an accessible home, school, work place, shopping place, etc., regardless of their abilities.
