Aaron Chiropractic Center shared St. James Lutheran Church's post.
Join us at 6 pm, Sunday, April 30, at St. James Lutheran Church to hear about the problem of heroin and the deadly disease of addiction. Two recovering addicts will tell their stories, and Joel Makin, a therapist at Family Service Society Inc. specializing in addictions work, will talk about the disease and what can be done to address it. The problem recently became personal for the congregation at St. James Lutheran Church in Marion when one of our member's sister/daughter/aunt died from a heroin overdose. Because of that death, coupled with the deaths and overdoses throughout the community and the families ripped apart by the problem, St. James decided to talk about the elephant in our community's room.

In a 2017 article, the Annals of Rheumatic Disease reviewed 35 randomised placebo controlled trials of NSAIDs for efficacy and safety in low back pain. The studies found there was no clinically important advantage over placebo. All of this while NSAIDs increase the risk of a GI reaction 2.5 times. In 1998 The American Journal of Nutrition noted there are 107,000 patients hospitalized annually for NSAID related GI issues and that there are over 16,500 deaths annually. At a time when opioid addictions make front page news on a regular basis, why wouldn't you chose a safe, effective drug free chiropractic care?
