Celebrating its 78th year, New Canaan Mounted Troop is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which provides the most comprehensive educational Full Horsemanship and Equine Care Programs for youth in Fairfield County. In 2012, NCMT also launched the Super Troopers Therapeutic Programs to serve children and adults with special needs. Located in New Canaan, CT, NCMT was founded in 1939 by celebrated horsewoman, children’s author, and community leader, Margaret Cabell Self. To this day, NCMT honors the founding principles of its original mission statement: Building leadership, responsibility and confidence in youth through sound horsemanship.
