UNDERSTANDING MURAL PRICING FROM SIMPLY ARTISTIC:
It is first important to understand how pricing works for Vinyl Murals as a comparison to Painted Murals. We DO NOT offer Vinyl Mural services, but this comparison will help you determine whether or not a Painted Mural is the service for you.
Vinyl Murals are the equivalent to wallpaper, or in Construction Terms, "Vinyl Wall Coverings". Vinyl Murals can cost anywhere between $12 per square foot and $16 per square foot. This includes the printing of the artwork onto large Vinyl Adhesive Rolls, and the labor to install it like wallpaper. It does not include any design fees, travel charges or equipment rental fees that might be required to get to higher levels. Vinyl murals can usually be printed in several hours and installed in one day or less, depending on the size.

This is in comparison to a Painted Mural that is NEVER priced per square foot but rather, by the overall size and mostly, the complexity of the artwork. Vinyl Murals can be charged per square foot because it does not matter how detailed the artwork is, it is printed at the same speed as any other artwork and supplies will cost the same as another mural at the same size.

Painted Murals with Simply Artistic can take days or weeks to complete the pre-work before we ever get to the mural site to start painting. The pre-work consists of stencil production, which is all done manually.
Once we complete all pre-work, we then start painting. That too can take days or weeks to complete. While we never charge by square foot, you can understand why a painted mural can easily cost twice as much as a Vinyl Mural, or more. The more the detail, the longer it takes to complete the mural.

As an example:
A Vinyl Mural at 10 feet wide x 10 feet high = 100 square feet. The 'range' of pricing for a Vinyl Mural at this size can be $1,200 to as much as $1,600. The type of wall will determine pricing. The more coarse the wall, the higher the cost. Then, they will add the cost for travel to and from the mural site for however many days it takes them to do the job. They will also add the cost for any lift equipment, if needed and the cost to design the artwork.

For a Painted Mural with Simply Artistic, that same size mural can cost up to $3,000 as a base cost, to significantly more as the detail increases. This does not include the cost for designing the artwork (unless the client already has the design), travel charges and lift equipment rentals. Again, the amount of detail is what drives most of the cost. On occasion, Painted Murals can be comparable in cost to Vinyl Murals when the artwork is very basic with a low amount of detail.

The reason we NEVER charge per square foot:
One client can ask us to paint 100 square feet of a blue sky and a few clouds. That mural will likely take us one day to complete.
Another client can ask us to paint 100 square feet of the 'Sistine Chapel' level artwork. That mural will likely take us one month to complete.
If we charged by square feet, you can see why that makes no sense, whatsoever.
