Barrett Partners is located in the historic Beck House in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. Partners Brenda and Tony Barrett each have over twenty-five years experience working on numerous successful projects.

Mr. Barrett specializes in land use planning, master planning, zoning, community development planning, site planning and design. He has been involved in numerous projects throughout Central Kentucky and the Washington DC Area including retail, office, recreation, and residential communities. Mr. Barrett has a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the State University of New York School of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse. He is a registered Landscape Architect in the State of Kentucky, and is a certified LEED-AP: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – Accredited Professional by the United States Green Building Council.

Ms. Barrett has worked on a wide spectrum of projects including public and commercial landscape designs as well as residential landscapes and gardens. She has extensive knowledge of plant material with an emphasis on native plant material. In addition to landscape design, Ms. Barrett has experience in the preparation of site feasibility studies, zoning exhibits, and site design. A graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture she is a registered Landscape Architect in the State of Kentucky.

Joey Svec is a registered landscape architect in the State of Kentucky with a wide range of experience in commercial and residential design both domestically and internationally. Before joining Barrett Partners in 2012 Joey worked on world-renowned projects with EDSA in Fort Lauderdale Florida and Hoerr Schaudt in Chicago Illinois. Mr. Svec is involved in all phases of design from concept through construction documentation and administration. As project manager he successfully organizes project teams to ensure that plans are delivered on time and within budget and that they reflect the client’s vision. Mr. Svec holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of Kentucky.

Matt Fleece is a 2010 graduate of the University of Kentucky Landscape Architecture program where he was a member of the “Beyond the Legacy” project that won the 2011 APA Kentucky Chapter Highest Honors Award for student projects. Prior to joining Barrett Partners Matt worked in the nursery industry where he gained valuable experience in landscape design, plant availability, cost estimating, landscape installation, and client relations. Matt has excellent design, technical, and practical skills from his training and work experiences.

Barrett Partners believes in being an active participant in local, state and national affairs. Through participation in the following boards, committees and organizations Barrett Partners has served the community as well as its clients.
