Amicus, which means "Friend," has existed in Bangor since 1971. We are a private, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization. From July 1, 2016 - June 30, 2017, we supported close to 600 adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Learning takes place in seven programs located at three sites in Bangor with full access to the community. Some individuals choose to participate in our five hour per day programs and others choose a different schedule.
Amicus is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). We are a proud member of the Maine Association for Community Service Providers (MACSP).
