Our History…

Maine Septic & Pumping, established in 1996 in Lewiston, Maine, is the Maine distributor for Presby Environmental, Inc., a manufacturer of innovative septic products. Before moving to Lewiston, the proprietor, Kathy-Rae Emmi worked with her family’s construction company in New Hampshire which was primarily involved in the design and installation of septic systems.

A few years later Kathy’s husband, Nino, sold his restaurant and joined her in building the septic business. The company has diversified since he joined the operation and now MS&P provides septic tank pumping services and septic system inspections for realty transactions. Both Kathy & Nino are CERTIFIED septic system inspectors. MS&P uses the latest techniques for inspections including camera-eye technology.

As the Maine distributor for Presby Environmental, Inc., Maine Septic and Pumping also offers the Enviro-Septic® leaching system, the Presby Maze® for septic tanks and the De-Nyte system, some of the innovative septic products manufactured by Presby Environmental, Inc. Both contractors and site evaluators in Maine find Enviro-Septic® leaching systems are low in cost and take up a very small leaching area in comparison to a conventional stone system. Over 100,000 systems have been installed in New England.

The Presby Maze® for septic tanks is a simple device that is inserted in a conventional septic tank. The major advantage of the Presby Maze® for commercial installations is the ability to reduce the leach field size up to 35%.

The De-NyteTM system consists of an array of De-NyteTM cells placed 6-12″ below an Enviro-Septic® leaching system. De-NyteTM cells capture and treat nitrified leachate using a carbon source. Nitrates are converted into harmless nitrogen gas and released back into our atmosphere.

MS&P has several dealers through out Maine selling these innovative septic products.
