For more than 100 years, the Barberton Public Library (BPL) has been dedicated to enriching the community by being Barberton's reliable source of information and entertainment. We are an independent library serving the residents of the Barberton City School District and surrounding areas.
Funding for the library is by a set percentage of the Ohio state general revenue fund and the proceeds from a local operating levy. The taxing authority is the Barberton City Board of Education, which approves selection of the Library board members and which, at the Library's request, may place ballot issues before the community. The Library is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees, each of whom serves a seven-year term of volunteer service. The Board's meetings are open to the public (except for executive sessions) and are held at the library on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30pm, generally in the Board Room.
BPL truly has something for everyone. Books, movies, music, digital content, book clubs and other name it!
