Fred Adler opened Adler's Army-Navy in 1919 with two goals: treat each customer with respect, and offer quality at a reasonable price. Fred passed that philosophy down to his sons, Carl and Irving, who imparted it to the third (and current) generation of Adler's owners, their sons Harry and Marc.
Through the years, Adler's has changed to meet the needs of its customers. In the 1960s, Carl and Irving added hardware to the Army/Navy goods. In the 1980s, Marc and Harry came on board, bringing new ideas, products and services. Out went the Army/Navy products; in came decorative hardware, design, wallpaper, upscale fabrics and C2 Paints.
Even with all these changes and innovations, one thing has remained just as it was in 1919: making sure that every customer is treated like a guest in the Adler home. Harry, Marc and their staff provide a shopping experience that is warm, caring and personal. This makes Adler's will no doubt continue to do so for generations to come.
