At Learning Perspectives, we understand how important employment is to an individual’s well being and life satisfaction . A major component of this is the sense of accomplishment, confidence, self-worth and knowledge that come from one’s employment and service to the community. We don’t just believe that satisfaction comes from the paycheck one receives but comes from a combination of pride, self-confidence, knowledge gained, and relationships formed while working.
What is Supported Employment?

Learning Perspectives offers supported employment to the Eastern North Carolina Region. Supportive Employment is a service that assists an individual to get, learn, and keep a paid job/career in a normal work setting. Learning Perspectives’s Supported Employment is sometimes called “Customized Employment” because jobs may be individually negotiated and developed. It is designed to meet the specific needs of the employer and is based on an individualized determination of the strengths, needs and interests of the person with a disability.

A Different Kind of Supported Employment Program…

Over the years we have continually evolved our ideas around helping our community. We have designed and focused our services to better help individuals, businesses, and organizations alike. We have done this by creating connections within our community and growing a network of caring individuals. Members of our network, both employees and employers, provide that each matter to one another and to the community. These connections we have built have formed a shared faith that all members’ are working together to help better our community and the lives of one another. This is been one key to our success and a critical part of our mission.
