Join us for First Friday with local Jewelry Designer Bethany Stanbery. Artist Statement: Akhu Studio encompasses my love for the natural earth, the architecture of our modern world, and the portion of our souls that makes each of us unique. "Akhu," originates with the Ancient Egyptians, it is one of 8 immortal or semi-divine parts of our soul that survives death. Akhu, an immortal part of our soul/spirit, meaning "the radiant or shining one" that rose to the heavens to live with the gods or the imperishable stars. I love the idea of our souls transforming and moving into the cosmos after we've left this world, to shine bright with the stars that we gaze at each night. A celebration of our work on Earth. A celebration of our souls. We should never stop evolving, never stop seeking our truth that lies buried in the very folds of our consciousness. . Akhu Studios celebrates what lies before us and the physical world, the process of molding these blessings with alchemy, and then decorating the people who are inspired by this effort. My work is a presentation of these intentions. May each of you be a muse that one day dances with the giants; the stars.
